Drew Brees (6500) NO vs PHI
Those numbers are real folks. Drew Brees has been an absolute monster this year, and now the Eagles come to the SuperDome, with their top 2 corners both missing in Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills. We will have a secondary showcasing Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones and Cre’Von Leblanc. Drew Brees has also been much better in the dome so far this season.
Brees has 8 touchdowns in the first 2 games, and at 6500 Drew Brees is still a bargain.
Cam Newton (6200) CAR @ DET
Cam Newton is coming off his worst game of the season, a short week traveling to Pittsburgh. A trip to Detroit should fix all that. Last week with two of their top corners out, the Lions got torched by both Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller. That’s Allen Robinson, who is almost dead last among WR’s in separation this season according to Nextgenstats.com. Mitchell Trubisky (one of my most critiqued QB’s ever) started the first half against Detroit with a perfect passer rating, and Trubisky only took 1 sack. Cam bounces back in a big way, and with all the QB’s clustered together in price, I don’t mind paying up for one of the best.
Deshaun Watson (5700) HOU @ WAS
This is where I think my heart lies this week. Watson is TOO CHEAP! Washington just gave up 500 yards of offense to Tampa Bay last week, and their secondary has been disintegrating over the last few weeks. Given the bye, along with one of the premier slot threats in Keke Coutee coming back, I think this is a big week for Houston’s passing attack on the road. I’m leaning Watson as my QB this week.
Lamar Jackson (4700) BAL vs CIN
If Joe Flacco doesn’t play, Lamar Jackson will be very chalky. At 4700, his rushing alone might hit value. He’s also a more than capable passer in a phenomenal matchup at home, coming off a bye week in which I’m sure he get plenty of reps with the first team offense.
Alvin Kamara (8200) NO vs PHI
Remember when everyone was freaking out about Kamara’s role changing with Ingram coming back? Since their bye week, Kamara has scored 8 touchdowns and is averaging 20 touches per game. He’s fine. He plays in a top 3 offense, with a top 3 QB. He’s one of the most gifted players in the NFL, and we get a bit of a discount at 8200 this week. You guys can have your Saquon’s and Zeke’s this week, I’ll take Alvin Kamara.
David Johnson (7500) ARI vs OAK
Yes, I’m biased. I think David Johnson is one of the best talents I’ve ever seen at running back, and I don’t think that’s hyperbole. DJ is still 26 years old and in his prime. His offense this year has been bad with a rookie quarterback and an offensive coordinator that had no creativity. Now Byron Leftwich has come in as the OC, and went back to the old Bruce Arians offense of the past, that saw DJ go for an almost 1000 rushing 1000 receiving season with 20 touchdowns. David Johnson has 283 total yards in the last 2 games and has 8 touchdowns on the season. The Raiders come to town, and this team has completely given up. DJ is my favorite RB play this week.
Dion Lewis (4800) TEN @ IND
Opportunity over everything. Dion Lewis has 19+ touches in 3 straight games. I think this is a better matchup for Dion, and the talent will begin to display if he keeps getting this type of workload. I think this is a very safe play with an extremely high floor at 4800.
Mark Ingram (4700) NO vs PHI
Was my favorite play of the week last week at 4500 and put up 28.2 fantasy points on DraftKings. His price must have gone up like crazy, especially against Philadelphia who just gave up 150+ rushing yards to Zeke, right? It went from 4500 to 4700. He’s still averaging over 15 touches per game in one of the most elite offenses in the NFL. I just don’t understand.
Alex Collins (4400) BAL vs CIN
I don’t love this play because of the player, but I like the price, volume, and matchup. Cincinnati is giving the worst defenses of all time, a run for their money this season. Collins is getting just under 15 opportunities per game, and I think the Ravens should control this game. If Joe Flacco sits for this game, and Lamar Jackson starts, I like Collins way more. Ingram and Kamara absolutely decimated Cincy last week, and I like Collins for 4400.
Theo Riddick (4000) CAR @ DET
Theo Riddick needs dual eligibility. Riddick led the Lions in their second game without Golden Tate, with 16 routes run from the slot. He caught 6 of his 7 targets for 60 yards. He tied the team lead for catches (6) and second on the team in receiving yards (60). You can get back-end WR2 numbers from a running back easily with Theo Riddick. I love slot targets this year, I think they’re incredibly overweight in terms of value, and Riddick is getting plenty of them.
Jacquizz Rodgers (3300) TB @ NYG
This feels dirty to put Jacquizz Rodgers on this list, but he did explode for 102 receiving yards last week. 3300 goes a long way in savings to allow you to spend up in other places. I’d definitely prefer to spend a bit up for Ingram or Lewis, but Rodgers is a fair value at 3300. Ronald Jones should stay sidelined in this game vs the Giants, and NYG had no answer for Matt Breida out of the backfield in Week 10. I’m just saying this isn’t the WORST play!
Michael Thomas (8800) NO vs PHI
This is pretty expensive for a WR for my taste. But I honestly can’t think of a better spot. Thomas is coming off 2 games in which he’s seen 23 targets, catching 20 for 281 and 3 touchdowns. The Eagles have now lost former Number 1 CB Ronald Darby for the year, to a torn ACL. Enter 23 year old Rasul Douglas, and throw him directly in the fire, trying to slow down Michael Thomas on the road. Even the Cowboys were attacking Douglas when he came into the game, and that was with Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper, as opposed to Drew Brees and Michael Thomas. Thomas is worth 8800 this week.
Odell Beckham (8400) TB @ NYG
Odell is coming off a big game, and gets a SWEET matchup with Tampa Bay. There’s a ton of matchups I like on this slate, but I’m leaning to playing 1 lineup with all the stud RB’s and value WR’s, and another lineup with all the stud WR’s, and value RB’s. I haven’t felt this strongly about the top of the list for WR in a long time on Draftkings. Odell is averaging 11.33 targets per game, and 9 is his lowest amount in any game this season. He was consistently open, and his touchdown upside was on display catching a pair on MNF. The Bucs have been getting torched by stud wide outs, and Odell fits that bill.
Deandre Hopkins (7900) HOU @ WAS
Hopkins, 99.3 receiving yards per game this season, facing the 26th ranked pass defense coming off a 10 catch game, under 8k. Not to mention my easy vote for best hands in the league. I don’t think I’ve owned Hopkins on DraftKings yet this season, but here’s my chance!
Antonio Brown (7800) PIT @ JAX
The best receiver in the NFL costs 7800? Coming off a game where his team put up 50+ points, and he leads the league in TD receptions? Playing against a defense in shambles, that he STILL burned when they were the number 1 defense in the league last year? Antonio Brown is the most matchup proof wide receiver in the NFL, don’t overthink this one. Oh, and he’s scored at least 1 touchdown in 8/9 games so far this season.
Alshon Jeffery (6300) PHI @ NO
New Orleans is the worst defense against Wide Receivers this season. This game has a huge Over/Under and should see close to 50 pass attempts from Carson Wentz. I think Alshon should see 8-11 of those targets. Pretty solid for 6300.
John Brown (5900) BAL vs CIN
Cincy has been awful at defense, and they’re getting worse. In the first matchup between these 2, John Brown saw 10 targets and went for 92 yards and a touchdown. If Joe Flacco misses this game, I will pivot off of John Brown, so monitor that situation as the week progresses.
Devin Funchess (5100) CAR @ DET
The Lions corners are hurt, and bad. Last week, the Bears and Allen Robinson destroyed Shead for 6-133-2. If that wasn’t enough, we saw Anthony Miller, working primarily in the slot, covered by Nevin Lawson and Teez Tabor, have his best game as a pro going 5-122-1. Without Slay, who looks iffy again for Week 11, this Detroit Lions secondary is extremely burnable and Funchess should take full advantage. Funch’ll Munch this week.
Keke Coutee (4500) HOU @ WAS
Coach Bill O’Brien says “I think Keke is trending upwards,” coach Bill O’Brien said Monday. “I think Keke’s headed in the right direction.” If Coutee is able to play, he has a great matchup against Fabian Moreau. Coutee also leads the league in creating separation from his defender with 4.6 yards of separation per route run.
Cole Beasley (4400) DAL @ ATL
Cole Beasley takes on Brian Poole, and an Atlanta defense currently giving up the most yards per game (109) to slot receivers this season. The Dallas passing attack has significantly improved in the last few weeks since Amari has come to town, and there have been a bunch of track meets in Atlanta. I think Beasley’s high floor increases a bit, but his ceiling significantly improves
DJ Moore (4200) CAR @ DET
See Devin Funchess*
Zach Ertz (6600) PHI @ NO
“Yo Travis Kelce, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Zach Ertz is having one of the best tight end seasons of all time!” Ertz is on a ridiculous pace of 133 catches and 1403 yards, both would smash previous tight end records. That would only be 10 catches behind Marvin Harrison’s record of 143. He is the number 1 offense on this team, vs one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Don’t miss out on Ertz this week. My tight end play of the week.
Jordan Reed (3800) WAS vs HOU
Reed is cheap and is getting volume. Not too tough of a matchup and not that bad of a price. I’d be more than happy to pay 3800 for Jordan Reed (but a lot happier spending up to get Zach Ertz.)
Ricky Seals Jones (2900) ARI vs OAK
Tricky Ricky, you’re so tricky. Are you going to get targets or not? 6, 4, 4, 9 over his last 4 games and he’s running a ton more routes in Byron Leftwich’s offense. I like the price a lot, and love the matchup. Prefer Ricky to Reed.
Panthers (2800) CAR @ DET
The Lions gave up 10 sacks 2 weeks ago to the Vikings, and didn’t look much better last week.
Steelers (2900) PIT @ JAX
Bortles has been pretty bad and Pittsburgh is generating a ton of pass rush right now, as you saw on prime time vs the Panthers last week.
Cardinals (3100) OAK @ ARI
My favorite play of the week. I want to attack Oakland on the road and Arizona has done a fine job forcing turnovers this season.
